Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use Ronnie, including at 3am with a baby in one arm. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we’ve done
- Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed for low vision, at a comfortable size.
- Strong colour contrast in light and dark mode, and meaning that never relies on colour alone.
- Large buttons, spaced for tired thumbs.
- Labels for screen readers on buttons, icons and charts.
- Animation that respects your phone’s “reduce motion” setting.
What we know isn’t perfect yet
- The crop step for scanning charts in professional mode works by dragging. If that’s hard for you, skip the photo and type the readings in instead.
- Pinch-zoom is turned off inside the app, so it behaves like an app rather than a web page. Text is already large, and your phone’s own zoom or magnifier (in its accessibility settings) still works. This website can still be zoomed as normal.
- Some charts on the Insights tab are easier to read by sight. The same numbers are in History and in the PDF and CSV reports.
